Florence And The Machine singer Florence Welch has revealed her ‘self-destructive’ nature.

Speaking in the new issue of NME, out tomorrow (November 25), Welch described how she gets taken over by what she calls the ‘Chaos Robot’, and subsequently finds it difficult to cope with her lifestyle. (Buy Florence And The Machine v festival tickets 2010)

‘I can be so reckless and impulsive and very self-destructive. Suddenly everything just goes boom. Chaos! Aaarghh! Must destroy all good things in my life right now! The whirlwind takes over and I end up breaking things,’ Welch explained.

Welch went on to reveal that her state of mind, along with a nasty breakup and what she calls a ‘summer of the weird’, was the primary inspiration behind debut album Lungs, released earlier this year.

‘It was a really wild, intense summer,’ she said. ‘I was in quite a weird place. I was heartbroken and angry but I also wrote a lot of songs. I was sad, angry and manic – quite a combination!’ sourse

METALLICA recently announced an early 2010 tour of South and Central America, with the band visiting two cities Panama City and San Jose, Costa Rica that it has never played before. The group will also hit Lima, Peru, for what promoters are expecting to be the biggest musical event ever staged in Peruvian history.

The Lima show takes place on January 19, with more South American dates expected to be announced soon.

According to El Espectador, Universal Music in Mexico has set a November 30 release date for METALLICAs ‘Orgullo, Pasión Y Gloria – Tres Noches En La Ciudad De México’ (Pride, Passion And Glory Three Nights In Mexico City) DVD, recorded on June 4, 6 and 7 of this year at Foro Sol, Ciudad de México. The DVD packaging features work of legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin (LED ZEPPELIN, AC/DC, THE WHO, IRON MAIDEN).

To promote this launch, the first 5,000 people to buy tickets for METALLICAs March 10, 2010 concert in Bogotá, Columbia will have access to the first edition of the DVD.

The band played Mexico City for the first time in a decade in June, with the group keeping the shows on its schedule despite the outbreak of swine flu that originated in the area.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD and a Mexican act called RESORTE served as the opening acts.

METALLICA has issued several DVDs in the past, including ‘Cliff Em All’, ‘Cunning Stunts’, ‘S&M With The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra’ and ‘A Year And A Half’.

METALLICA has set November 23 as the release date for ‘Francais Por Une Nuit’, or ‘French For One Night’, the full-length concert DVD that the band filmed in Nimes, France on July 7, 2009. The show took place at a historic Roman amphitheatre called the Arenes de Nimes.

Razorlight’s debut album ‘Up All Night’ proved to be both a pundit and fan success story.   ‘Golden Touch’ sped them onto prime time TV.  The ablum followed and sold a million copies.

The follow-up, Slipway Fires’ is the kind of album that can only be made in an aftermath.  It’s a record about confrontation, heartache and being put to the test and will be sure to engage V fans at this year’s festival.

Oasis and The Killers have been announced as headliners for this summer’s V Festival.

Other acts lined up include Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Elbow, MGMT, The Ting Tings, Fatboy Slim, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

The event takes place on 22 and 23 August at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire.

Razorlight are an English indie rock band formed in 2002. They are primarily known in their home countries, having topped the charts with the 2006 single America and its parent self-titled album, their second.

The band includes: Johnny Borrell (Lead singer, rhythm guitar), Björn Sten Ågren (guitarist), Carl Gustaf Dalemo (bassist) and David ‘Skully’ Sullivan-Kaplan (drummer)

The Killers at V Festival 2010

The Killers’ debut album, Hot Fuss, catapulted the band onto the global stage upon its release in 2004, selling millions of copies around the world.

Its follow-up, a love letter of sorts to their hometown of Las Vegas entitled Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and has so far sold 1.4million copies in the UK alone, winning the band two Brit Awards in the process.

The Killers’ third album, Day & Age, was released last November to great acclaim, and has seen the group making a joyous return to the dancefloor with massive singles Human and Spaceman.

These will surely be among the highlights of the festival as the band takes to the stage at this year’s V festival.

The Killers are to release a live DVD comprising material recorded at their two London Royal Albert Hall gigs earlier this year.

‘Live From The Royal Albert Hall’ is due to come out on November 9.

It will feature 22 tracks taken from the band’s gigs on July 5 and 6, as well as a behind-the-scenes documentary and additional videos from The Killers’ V Festival 2009 and Hyde Park performances. The package also includes an 80-minute audio CD of live material.

The Killers are an American Grammy-Award nominated and BRIT-Award winning alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2002.

The band consists of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitar, vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitar, vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (percussion, drums).
